I started working with computers in 1981 in Junior High. At that
time I took a programming class on an Apple II+ and fell in love with computers
and the mystery of how they worked. After graduating from St. Helens
Senior High School in 1985 I attended Portland Community College where I earned
an AAS degree in Application Programming (mainly for mainframes, but the
concepts still apply to PC's), an AAS degree in Computer Operations (for
mainframes), and a 1 year certificate on Microcomputers (PC's). I wrote my first "commercial" program in 1982. I created a payroll
program for our churches day-care. From there I added a budget program
for our church and modified the payroll program to run for my father's
business. Some of my most recent programming has been in Visual Basic for
Applications with MS Office and for the internet with JavaScript and ASP pages. I
began using the internet in 1995 and "wrote" my first web page shortly
thereafter. I have continued designing web pages for individuals and
businesses since then. I was even the "webmaster" for a local
ISP which involved initiating user pages and overseeing a team of volunteers to
restructure the ISP's business web site. Click here
for a list of pages that I've worked on. I started teaching almost right out
of high school as a Sunday School teacher and eventually as a youth
pastor. I have also taught computer classes for a community college and
for a community computer center.
I currently live in Rainier, OR with my family and have consulting clients
in Longview, WA; St. Helens, OR; Portland, OR; and Eugene, OR.
Please see my personal web site for more information about me, my family, and my life.
